Previously, residents in UAE had to hand over two negative PCR test results (24 hrs apart) to gain green status after being tested covid positive.

Citizens of Abu Dhabi who are fully vaccinated will no longer need to do a PCR test to regain their green status on the Al Hosn app.

A recent update on the app will automatically turn the red status to green on day 11. This benefits the residents to save their time by not having to undergo a PCR test.

Formerly, residents had to show two negative PCR test results 24 hours apart, even if fully vaccinated, to earn a green status after being tested positive for Covid-19.

As stated by the Al Hosn app,

  • - The residents of UAE who are tested covid positive will not be able to receive vaccination or booster shot for 90 days.

  • - The Integrated travel pass will be excluded from this law.

  • - A PCR test will be required every 14 days to maintain Green Pass status.

Moreover, a recent social media campaign using the hashtag 'Protect Others' was shared to raise awareness and encourage Covid-positive individuals to isolate themselves inside to prevent the risk of infecting others.

A Green Pass on the Al Hosn app is required to enter Abu Dhabi and is routinely enforced while visiting public venues in the UAE capital. As the health sector is growing with the cost of treatment, health insurance in Dubai is required is to protect your family members and you from any unexpected illness with expensive costs associated with it.
